Why do I need to get a building permit for property I own?
Pursuant to the adopted Standard Building Code, any and all work performed required that you obtain a building permit, except for minor repairs. The plans must be reviewed, the material and work inspected to assure proper and safe installation. It is always to your advantage to check with the Building Division before you begin your construction activity. Staff will be happy to determine whether a permit is required for the scope of work you are performing.
