From: Corporal Deakins, Rockledge Police Department Neighborhood Watch Program Coordinator - E-mail:  adeakins@cityofrockledge.org New E-mail Address

Subject: YOUR ROCKLEDGE NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH INTEGRATED E-MAIL NETWORK

Information: The Rockledge Police Department and your community need residents in the loop.  Enforcing public safety and deterring criminal mischief is best assured when residents, communities and law enforcement agencies partner.  Whether actively involved with a neighborhood watch program or just “in the know” of what is going on around a community, each resident is an integral part of this city’s success in preventing and responding to the criminal element that is working to inject itself into our city and our neighborhoods.
A basic element of any public safety program is effective communication.  To get you and your neighbors in the loop there is a program in place.  Supported by the Rockledge Police Department, this volunteer citizen managed program establishes a link among residents, communities and local law enforcement.  It is called the City of Rockledge Neighborhood Watch Integrated E-mail Network.
This e-mail network currently disseminates select police and community alerts and bulletins to over 46 Rockledge neighborhoods; there is a drive to get more neighborhoods involved, more residents informed.  If you and your community are not receiving these network e-mails already, would you be willing to support bringing this valuable neighborhood watch resource to your household and to your neighbors?
The goal of the program is to get a point of contact in each neighborhood.  Whether that neighborhood is defined as a street, cul-de-sac, homeowners association or a portion of an association is up to the point of contact.  The point of contact does not have to be their area’s Neighborhood Watch Coordinator, just an individual that wants to assist.  The process is simple:  promote the network in your area, build an e-mail address list of those wanting to be in the loop, and forward the e-mails sent to you to those on your list.  Over time and by word of mouth, it is hoped that more in each area will ask to be on your list “in the loop”.  If you are interested or have any questions about the Neighborhood Watch Integrated E-mail Network or this message, contact Corporal Deakins at adeakins@cityofrockledge.org .  Thank you for your time and consideration.
Please note, this is a volunteer managed effort and is in place solely at the discretion of those individuals who have volunteered to facilitate it, working with the Rockledge Police Department to do so.  The information provided to the network by local law enforcement is discretionary.

Administrative Offices open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Emergency Personnel on duty 24 hours a day.

The Rockledge Police Department serves the citizens with 50 certified police officers, 18 support staff positions, 5 Reserve  Officers, 8 crossing guards and 7 civilian volunteers. All Rockledge police officers must be certified by the State of Florida.
