At the July 20, 2011 City Council meeting, Mayor Schultz introduced City employees Connie Davis, Steve Wilson, Mike Jarusiewicz, and Norris Park, some of the committee members who were instrumental in organizing the 13th Annual City Employee Golf Tournament. The group presented ceremonial checks in the amount of $5,890 each to the Central Brevard Sharing Center Children’s Bag Pack Feeding Program and the Salvation Army Christmas Food Drive, the chosen charities for this year’s tournament. Accepting the donations on behalf of the charities were Dave Brubaker of the Sharing Center and Rev. Ed Strong of the Salvation Army.

Also at the City Council meeting on July 20th, Assistant City Manager Henderson, in a failed attempt to prove that he is not always a cheap miser, approached the dais to present to Chief of Police Krueger the keys to
his executive bathroom at the new police station. The five-gallon capacity bucket bowl, topped with a white toilet seat & lid ensemble with “Krueger’s Kommode” exquisitely embossed in gold and tastefully complemented by a gold padlock, was custom-made by Building Official Clements, with decorative enhancement assistance from Planning Director Griffin. Chief Krueger was very much taken by surprise and so appreciative that he happily took advantage of yet another photo opportunity.
