Communities for a Lifetime

Communities for a Lifetime

KICK-OFF EVENT FREE REFRESHMENTS

The City of Rockledge will be holding its first Communities for a Lifetime seminar on Wednesday, May 21, 2008, in the Council Chambers at Rockledge City Hall, 1600 Huntington Lane, from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon. Communities for a Lifetime is a statewide initiative, begun in 1999, that assists Florida cities, towns, and counties in planning and implementing improvements that benefit their residents, youthful and elderly. This seminar will focus primarily on enhancing the quality of life for our elderly residents.
Rockledge Fire Department and Rockledge Police Department personnel will be making presentations on various topics such as how to prevent slips and falls, proper taking of medications, vial of life program, exercise programs, and much more. There will also be a number of health information booths on site.
The Secretary of the Florida Department of Elder Affairs, Dr. E. Douglas Beach, will be attending this event, along with a number of invited guests. The City is very excited to be holding its inaugural Communities for a Lifetime event. Please join us for this FREE community program. For additional information, contact Steve Wilson at City Hall, 690-3978.
