Who is responsible for registering the alarm system?
If an alarm company installs the system, the alarm company is required to register the alarm. If the resident or business owner installs the system, the responsibility then falls upon the resident or business owner.
How do I register an alarm?
Come by the Police Department at 1776 Jack Oates Blvd. or call Lisa Brady at (321) 690-3213 ext. 3151 to obtain a registration form and a copy of the city ordinance. Complete the form and submit it to Lisa Brady with the $25.00 registration fee.
When should the alarm be registered?
The system should be registered upon activation either by the alarm company or the resident or business owner.
Does the system need to be re-registered each year?
No, it's a one-time fee as long as you remain at the same address; alarm registrations are not transferable to new owners, lessees/lessors or to a new address.
What are considered false alarms?
Any activation caused by negligence, malfunction, or intentional misuse of the system by the owner or his employees, servants or agents or any other activation not caused by forced entry, attempted forced entry or robbery.
