Darby (Phillips) Miller was born and raised in the City of Rockledge and she graduated from Rockledge High School. Her parents Bob & Cleo Phillips were long-time residents of the Cocoa/Rockledge area and the owners of Hub’s Inn Restaurant in Cocoa. Darby’s mother, her sister, Debbie (Phillips) Ledford, and brother, ‘Buz’ Phillips, are all graduates of CHS and Darby and her sailings all attended classes on the current RHS campus. Following college at the University of Mississippi, Darby moved to the Tampa area where she raised her two children before moving back ‘home’ to Rockledge in 2017.
Darby is the Director of the Convention & Visitors Bureau for the Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce where she directs all activities of the council, its 225 members and its two locations; one in Cocoa Beach and the second at the Exploration Tower in Port Canaveral. The majority of her community involvement and activities revolve around Chamber and CVB events.
Darby recently renovated a mid-century home in old Rockledge and loves being back in the neighborhood where she has so many great childhood memories. Her love of history and equal interest in the future of Rockledge led her to apply for the Community Redevelopment Agency Board in 2020. She enjoys gardening, supporting community activities and her grandchildren who live in Tampa and Atlanta.
