The City of Rockledge is proud to announce a partnership with the Florida Division of Forestry that is solidly founded on the prevention of wildland fires by way of vegetation removal. Our efforts will involve the City properties in and around Dick Blake Park, (398 Gus Hipp Blvd., Rockledge). We are proactively taking these steps to prevent fire tragedies like the ones we have seen across our nation.
Starting on March 17, 2025, we will begin by trimming back the vegetation and creating natural fire barriers within the park with our primary goals focused on protecting the properties surrounding the park and protecting the wildlife that live there. From the gopher turtles to the beautiful scrub jays, every effort will be made to not just protect their habitats, but to actually enhance them. Wildlife cannot thrive as well in areas where vegetation is overgrown and unmanaged.
Thank you for your patience and understanding! Please contact the Rockledge Fire Division at (321) 221-7540 if you have any questions or concerns.
