The City of Rockledge, along with all of Brevard County, is now in a burn ban due to current drought conditions. Brevard County has announced a countywide burn ban, which will remain in effect until the drought index drops.
Precautions:
Please use extreme caution when grilling and cooking on outdoor appliances.
When grilling or cooking outside, have an extinguisher nearby.
If applicable, clear out an area between you and the brush, and remove any blown down vegetation.
Do not discard cigarettes out of a car window or onto the ground.
Prohibitions until the ban is lifted:
All outside fires
Any and all open-air cooking fires.
Any and all yard waste fires.
Any and all ceremonial or bonfires.
Call 911 if you see a fire in your area, as minutes matter.
